Tristan (トリスタン, Torisutan) is a character from the manga spin-off "Saint Seiya: Meiō Iden - Dark Wing". He is the Aquarius Gold Saint and is part of the twelve Gold Saints, the elite warriors within the army of the goddess Athena. He guards the Aquarius Temple in the Sanctuary of Athena.
When Cattleya Mikagami is presented as the reincarnation of Athena to the Gold Saints, Tristan seems to show some disgust when she arrives, as he has a frown and crossed arms, but seeing the young woman’s personality and realizing that she has not fully awakened, suggests with a smile that if Athena’s awakening rate is low they just have to come up with a plan to compensate.
Appearance[]
His appearance is similar to that of the Saint de Aquarius in the main universe of Saint Seiya, although he has some different characteristics, such as the fact that he has a younger complexion and physical appearance, as well as shorter hair.
Personality[]
Although the first impression may suggest that he is a grumpy young man, because he welcomes Cattleya with crossed arms and frown, this quickly changes and we can see that he is a very lively and good-hearted young man who understands the situation in which the young woman finds herself.
History[]
The awakening of the goddess[]
When Cattleya first meets with the Gold Saints and the Pope at the Sanctuary, Tristan is lined up alongside the other Gold Saints in the Pope’s chamber. Observing the young woman’s behavior, they begin to express their opinions about Athena. Tristan realizes that Athena’s rate of awakening is low, so he suggests devising a plan to compensate for this. However, most of the Gold Saints seem to have a favourable opinion of the young woman. After this, the Pope continues with the presentation, and most of the Gold Saints merely observe what happens without intervening.
Abilities[]
- As a Saint he can control the energy known as cosmos.
- The Saints have the power to tear the sky with their fists and break the earth with their kicks.
- Like Gold Saint, he can travel and fight at the speed of light (300,000 kilometers per second) and, thanks to the Gold Cloth he wears, he can withstand the cold down to -273.15°C, that is, absolute zero.
