Enter the 7 Chambers of Yggdrasil is the sixth episode of Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold.
Summary[]
The roots of Yggdrasil are destroyed and the path before the Gold Saints is cleared. Just as they reunite, they are torn apart by the God Warriors in chambers where the Saints of Athena are at a disadvantage.
Synopsis[]
Mu uses his powers to clear the path of Asgardian warriors, his sudden brash behavior caused by the loss of Milo.
At the destroyed roots of the three, the remaining Gold Saints are faced with dozens of Asgardian warriors. With their powers no longer being drained and frustrated by the loss of their friend, the Saints are in no mood to go easy on the warriors. Lyfia attempts to get the warriors to back down so no one will be risk of losing their life, but Aioria points out how the warriors will not back down due to their blind faith in Andreas.
A sudden voice confirms Aioria's theory but adds that the fight before the saints is already against them. The voice of Andreas claims that he will destroy the remaining Gold Saints and orders the warriors to let the saints pass. Although Shura is certain of a trap waiting for them, he follows Aioria and Lyfia into the entrance.
In Andreas' chamber, the seven God Warriors have gathered together and are informed of how the Gold Saints are getting closer with the claim that the saints are present to help Athena claim rulership of Asgard and the world. He points out how the eclipse caused by Hades has suppressed the powers of the Yggdrasil but falsely states that Athena has a hand in the eclipse as a way to help the Gold Saints lay waste to Asgard.
To help the God Warriors with the fight before them, Andreas bestows Odin Sapphires onto them and increases their power greatly as the power is drawn directly from Yggdrasil which will give them a large advantage over the remaining Gold Saints. As most of the God Warriors rush off to face the saints, Frodi stays behind to ask why Andreas allowed Athena's warriors to get by the Fimbulwinter and that fighting the saints while they were still weakened would have meant certain victory for Asgard.
Andreas answers that he needs to study the power of the saints God Cloths. Although admitting how he's noticed the saints are not able to use their strongest cloths for long, Andreas does admit that the power of the cloths leaves their bodies worn down from using such power. This information will surely help the God Warriors, especially now that they each have an Odin Sapphire.
Frodi does express some concern about the saints when he states only two of the twelve have been beaten, but one is yet to be located. Andreas reveals he has met the missing saint, Sagittarius Aiolos.
Shortly after Queen Hilda had fallen ill, Andreas had posed as being concerned about her well-being, but Hilda was already suspicious of him since he had put the palace under surveillance, imprisoned Princess Freya, and brought the forbidden Yggdrasil onto Asgard. When Andreas was later making his way to Yggdrasil, he encountered Aiolos. The Sagittarius saint already felt something was wrong and tried to get Andreas to admit this, but the new representative attempted to attack instead. Seeing that Andreas would not back down so easily, Aiolos donned his cloth and revealed himself as a Gold Saint of Athena.
Frodi questions where Aiolos is now, but Andreas waves off the question as something for Frodi not to worry about as he should instead prepare for the saints heading their way. Frodi hurries off and therefore does not see when Andreas summons seven circular chessboards with pieces representing the God Warriors and the Gold Saints.
In the tunnels, the Gold Saints locate each other in what they believe is the center of Yggdrasil. With Lyfia quickly introduced to Dohko and Aldebaran, the saints go over their next course of action. Lyfia informs the saints of the legend of something dangerous blooming from Yggdrasil and that there is only one way to stop it from growing. There are seven chambers of Yggdrasil that are guarded by the God Warriors. Each one has a statue in the chamber that will need to be destroyed to prevent Yggdrasil's fruit from blooming.
Although Dohko is a little hesitant to trust Lyfia and what she says, Mu assures him that Lyfia is their ally and can put their faith in what she says. With just five Gold Saints present to tackle the challenge of destroying the statues, Lyfia is asked to leave before she is in any further danger. After the five separate, Lyfia is about to leave but changes her mind and heads back inside. As she tries to find where Aioria went, she finds herself in the Helheim chamber where she has a vision of herself standing before ritualistic markings and gazing into a mysterious orb.
Moments later, Aioria enters the Vanaheim chamber and finds the God Warrior Frodi who is all too eager to fight the Leo saint. At the same time, Aldebaran enters the Jotunheim chamber guarded by Hercules, Mu enters Svartalfheim and right away attacks Fafner with no mercy, Shura locates Jaheim and finds Camus waiting, and Dohko enters Helheim. Dohko spots a robed figure standing before the statue when he spots dead Asgardian soldiers begin to rise from the graves around him.
In his own chamber, Andreas finds himself correct in having believed the Gold Saints would separate to face the chambers. He notices that Shaka and Sage are making their way to the fight.
In town, Deathmask pays one last visit to Helena's flower shop before heading to battle.
Heading to a back chamber where the cloths of Aphrodite and Milo are being held, Andreas notices that the growth of the fruit is slowing and wonders if Aiolos is responsible. He recalls his encounter with Aiolos and how the archer had put up quite a fight despite his cosmos being drained. But because Yggdrasil was draining his cosmos, Andreas was able to get the upper hand on Aiolos and nearly finish him off, but Aiolos continued to be a challenging opponent as he would not allow Andreas to call his fate unlucky as he saw it as the best fortune in getting to fight Andreas first as it provided him the chance to lay a crippling blow that would pave the way for the saints victory. Even with how close they were to Yggdrasil, Aiolos burned his cosmos so much that his bow turned into a divine weapon that overpowered Andreas' power and damaged his left eye.
Even though Aiolos was nowhere to be seen afterwards, Andreas felt certain that the Sagittarius saint had no power left to be the reason the growth was being affected and now waits to see the outcomes of the fights between the Saints and God Warriors.
