When he became the host of Hades, Alone going though drastic changes in personality, become much merciless and morally unstable, as seen in Alone's motte of "death as salvation", willing to kill many Saints, Specters, and innocent people for his own purposes. He possesses a menacing and overwhelming dark cosmos that compliments his position as the King of the Underworld's host. Alone goes as far as believing himself to be an evil human, which the Dream God Hypnos agree with him; admitting he never see any human with more malice as Alone, before overwhelms and rendered the last bit of Alone's human nature into a state of eternal drowsiness and incapacitation. The possible reason behind explains why Alone does this cruel method was creating a world where there is no war and suffering, which happen to be quite irony since Alone never good people that much. Out of all character in the series, this one and only Saint Alone seems to actually hold grudge against the most might indeed been Sisyphus, as seen when the god Hades who take over Alone's body was able to senses Alone harboring a large amount of negative emotions against the Sagittarius, presumably from what Hades managed to scan Alone's memories which contain images of the Sagittarius Gold Saint taking Sasha away from the orphanage.

During his time as Hades's host, Alone demonstrates an intense authority over the Specters, expecting them to only follow his orders not others. He does not approve of disobeys and mistakes and failure, as shown when he punished Pandora for control the armies without his consents. He also shown to be harsh and strict to even the high-ranking Specters like the Judges, with a prominent example being when Alone punish the Judge Garuda Aiacos for his defeat, manipulating the already dead body of Behemoth Violate in attempts to kill him . Additionally, he does not appreciated the fact that others people penetrates his private chamber without warning, as shown when he admonishes Mephistopheles Yoma for being disrespectfulness against the superior and barging in his chamber without a single warning. However, despite his authority and seriousness as the receptacle of Hades's soul, Alone is not above showing a softer side and make exceptions to those whose he thinks deserve it such as the SpecterBennu Kagaho, presumably respect Kagaho's loyalty to Alone. Alone is willing to give the Bennu Specter special treatments; if Hades the god inhabit Alone's body had anything against it, he was evidently unable to do anything or have a word about his host Alone and Kagaho and their close relationship. Although Alone wasn't present at the time of Kagaho's demise, Alone express genuine sadness over Kagaho's demise, furthermore acknowledged everything Kagaho done to help Alone before went on with finishing the grand plan, implying Alone's fondness with Kagaho. Beside Kagaho in Alone's friendly list, Alone was willing to make the former Judge Wyvern Rhadamanthys a divine being guardian of Saturn's Temple after he proves his loyalty to him, hinting Alone does trust Rhadamanthys to some extent. Alone's morbid obsessions for salvation was shown though the Lost Canvas itself, which Alone explains was a gigantic screen of painting that goes through the sky, which, when it is finished the Earth will be submerge in darkness. Additionally, after the trial of the Judge Rhadamanthys and the Judge's appoints to one of the Temples, Alone is seen approves of the Specter Sphinx Pharaoh's plan of carrying out orders and bring back a pile of Saints hearts with a smile on his face, showing that he is clearly interested in that morbid idea. And later, after his dual with the former Gemini Saint Aspros and the appearance of Yoma, Alone further demonstrates his morbid sense, bordering on cruelty by summons the Specters and Pandora to an important meeting as the Holy War intensifies, only for Alone to ends up killing the Specters with a painting of the Specters that he draws hidden away from plain sight and purposefully destroys its with his blood-soak paintbrush. When Pandora asks why he did this, Alone replies that this was the ultimate salvation, and that killing both the Specters and the Saints are perfect peace, in which he couldn't brought all of the salvation as Hades. During the fight against Morpheus, Alone is shown assisting Tenma in defeat Morpheus from inside. The twin gods Hypnos and Thanatos and Pandora all realizes Alone's soul is excelling more than Hades can handle and agrees that Alone need to be taken care of, which proves harder than they thought as Alone remain resistant toward Hades's influence . After the brutal fight against Owl Partita, Pandora confronts Alone and challenges him for being a outright stubborn receptacle of Hades's soul who refused to let the King of the Underworld takes over, to which Alone choose to be steadfast and focus on his idea of death is salvation rather than letting Hades take over for just a little bit. Alone's death is salvation concept steamed from his unquenchable desire to spares those he loves from the suffering, the pain, war, poverty, and to achieve such goals, he will use the power he has as the host of King of the Underworld. During his confrontation with Pandora, Alone confess to remain control over his body rather letting Hades take over and that the death is salvation concept is his idea and not Hades's. Alone truly believes in death as the ultimate salvation, hence he inflicts it on those he holds dear, to spare them the suffering of pain, wars and poverty, and to achieve such goals, he will use all the power of the god of the Underworld to kill the Saints and Specters alike for his own desire and finish the Lost Canvas.

Lost Canvas: Similar to the Great Eclipse, Alone painted a giant screen in the sky that represented the world and everything in it, intending to vanquish all lives on Earth once it reached its completion.
Underworld Lordship: Alone, thanks to Hades's powers, has full authority over the Underworld and its inhabitants, as well as the Underworld Army, including Pandora and the Specters. However, he does not have absolute control over Hypnos (and possibly Thanatos as well), notably seen when Hypnos uses his godly cosmos power to puts the last part of Alone's human soul in a state of eternal drowsiness and incapacitation to allows Hades to take over him completely.

He was shown to be very efficient at this, and is seen using this abilities multiple times, once to repels Crane Yuzuriha's attack during his meeting with Tenma and his allies in the Underworld, and later, he re-directed the attack of the Gold Saint Sagittarius Sisyphus back to him.
Corpse Manipulation: Alone, as Hades's host, can manipulate a person's dead body as if it were a puppet and get them to do whatever he wishes, as shown when he controls Behemoth Violate's corpse to punish the Garuda Aiacos for his defeat . However, if the person's will is strong enough, they are able to resist his control and stop their body from following Alone' command.

Alone before getting possessed by Hades
Alone was born in 1743 in a village in Italy. He grew up alongside his best friend Tenma and younger sister Sasha, who later become his enemies during the time of the Holy War. He believes that everybody has a good side and disapproves of the use of violence. Alone always liked to paint, but he had no money for the materials, so he worked hard to buy paint and practice painting in the church.
Alone also had a kind and sensitive heart. Once, he saved a puppy from the hands of other boys in his village, and to avoid the worst, he offered his bottle of red paint, the only valuable asset he had at that moment. The boys accepted and Alone protected the dog. Tenma arrives and knock them all back, then returning the ink bottle to Alone. Here was the medium of the friendship of those who would become mortal enemies.
Alone and Tenma watch as Sisyphus taking Sasha to the Sanctuary
Despite his happy childhood at the time, there's undoubtedly one event that would lead to Alone getting possessed by Hades in the future. That event happened to be no other than Sagittarius Sisyphus taking Sasha to the Sanctuary right infront of Alone and Tenma's eyes, leaving Alone and Tenma grieving for Sasha's departure. From that day on, Alone would holds a grudge against the Sagittarius Gold Saint, to the point that the god Hades who inhabit Alone's body in the future was able to senses his host's hatred against Sisyphus. This event leaving Sisyphus wondered if he did the right thing; if taking Sasha away from the orphanage, away from Tenma and Alone the boy who become host of Hades is a good idea or not.

Some time later, Alone goes to paint in a cathedral where meet a mysterious priest overlooking his work who questions Alone about the unfinished eyes and directs him to a location where he could find the ideal shade of red he is looking for. Taking the advice, Alone thanks the mysterious priest before leaving to find the right flower he needs to use for his painting.
The Fateful Encounter with Pandora[]
Pandora's kiss marked the awakening of Hades.
Alone then finds a young woman named Pandora. She approaches him and kisses him, by doing it that way, Hades can find a new host and possessed that person. Alone obtains a medallion in the shape of a star, with the inscription "Yours Ever".
Alone wakes up and talks to Tenma and the orphanage children
The next day, Alone wakes up and talks to Tenma and the orphanage children, who tell him that they found him stricken in the mountain, because Tenma felt something had happened to him. Alone dropped the medallion to the ground and Tenma was going to retrieve it.
Alone says goodbye to his friend Tenma, who leaves for the Sanctuary to train to become the Pegasus Saint
At that moment, Alone immediately threw himself from the bed, stopping Tenma by warning him not to touch the pendant, as if his personality had changed. At that moment, he asked Tenma if he feel something inside Alone, which Tenma replied with a no. The next day Alone says goodbye to his friend Tenma, who leaves for the Sanctuary to train to become the Pegasus Saint, making the promise that one day they would both reunite again.

During the next two years, Alone's personality underwent a drastic change after Tenma's departure and after realizing everything that he painted ends up dying in the end.
Pandora reappears and takes Alone so that both visit the cathedral
Pandora reappears and takes Alone so that both visit the cathedral, where it is said there is such a beautiful painting that would make a criminal cry and convert their ways. When he arrived there, Alone was surprised to see two priests welcoming him, one of which Alone recognized during his time in the cathedral before Tenma left. Alone enters, rushing pasts the two priests, desperate to see the painting and cannot believe when he sees that the "Saint" found in the subject of this painting is someone who appearance is eerily similar to Alone himself , dressed in Hades's Surplice.
Alone accept his fate as Hades's host
Believing the picture to be God-sent, Alone agrees to hold hands with Hades, King of the Underworld and accept being the god's host. After becoming the god's host, Alone's status causes drastic changes around the area which make Sasha recognize the Lord of Underworld had awakened and find a new host who happen to be her brother, Alone .
The Holy War Starts[]
Alone, as Hades's host, appeared at his hometown
A few days later, the first battle of this War takes place in Tenma, Alone, and Sasha's hometown. Moments later, Hades, who possessed Alone's body, appears with an unknown Specter accompanying him from behind. Alone appears infront of Tenma, with his presence being acknowledged by an injured Unicorn Yato. Tenma can't believe that Hades's host happen to be Alone of all people and attempts to beat some sense to him. Alone openly stating his friend haven't change much ever since with a smile on his face, and Alone show Tenma the bracelet on his hand and replied that he remember the promise they made to each other.
Alone destroyed Pegasus Tenma's portrait, which causes the Pegasus Saint's demise
Whilst Tenma is still in shock and denial by the situation he is in, Alone then present a painting of Tenma infront of the Pegasus Saint's eyes , whilst the other Saints present in the battle all wondered what Hades's host planning with Pegasus Saint. Dipped his paintbrush in blood, Alone proceed destroys the painting with his blood-soak paintbrush which causes the Pegasus Saint's death.
Alone's body gets taken over by the god Hades moments right after Tenma's demise
Moments rights after Tenma collapses dead, the god Hades began to take over Alone's body and changing his hair color, which the Gold Saint Libra Dohko notices the signs. Alone, with his hair quickly change from blonde to jet black as the god Hades inhabited his body slowly taking over. Alone, as his conscious being taken over by Hades, Alone crying out blood and views Tenma's death as salvation, much to the Gold Saints's anger.
Libra Dohko tries to attack Alone in order to avenge Tenma
Dohko then rushes foward and tries to attack Alone with his Rozan Hyakuryū Ha technique in order to avenge Tenma, but Alone is protected by Bennu Kagaho, who uses Corona Blast to cancel the effect of Dohko's Rozan Hyakuryū Ha, although being slightly hurt by the latter technique. Aries Shion eventually stop Dohko from attempting to attack Alone and the Specters even further, stating they had no time to win nor to lose. Back to Alone leading armies of Specters, Kagaho is praised by Alone for his efforts and retreats along with the whole army, as the objective was completed.
Alone gather his Specters and Pandora to a meeting
Alone build Hades's Castle (not to be confused with Heinstein Castle) along with a high, rocky hill, as his base of operation. Alone used his power to revive all 108 Specter in a matter of seconds, before gather all of the Specters and Pandora into his throne room. In a throne room full of specters surrounding Alone, the presence of Alone marked the moment Hades completely awakened, and a constellation full of stars were present to the Specters, which confused the Specters and made all of them wondered what is it. Alone then explains that constellation full of stars are in fact the Saint's lives, and when a Saint died their constellation will collapsed. The Specters noticed a constellation has fallen down from the starry sky, and Pandora explains the collapsed constellation was actually the Pegasus, and Alone had defeat Pegasus with his own hands. Alone informed the Specters that mixing all colors in this world makes a color of darkness for Alone as that is a calm and peaceful color of salvation. Alone wants the Specters to take Athena's life, and that the world must be tinted with the peaceful color of salvation. The Specters all demonstrates their unwavering support to their King of the Underworld and his host Alone by vowing to following his commands and exterminate the Saints, which pleased Alone
Alone secretly sent his first battalion to hit Athena's Sanctuary, led by Griffin Minos, who is renowned for being one of the three judges and one of the strongest among the Specters. Minos promised to present the best color of darkness to Alone, and the Judge quickly depart off to gather his soldiers. Alone and Pandora alongside with the other Specters silently watches as Minos leaving to fulfills his duties, with the receptacle of Hades's soul hoping for positive result and exterminating more Saints and filled the constellation full of Saints lives
Kagaho see Alone's wound
After the meeting finish, Alone dismissed his Specters and goes back to Hades's quarters to spend times on his drawing, and Kagaho entered the Underworld King's quarters shortly afterwards. Alone questioned Kagaho about his whereabouts during the meeting, and Kagaho states that such occasions didn't suit him, to which the Alone agrees. After being asked the reason to be there, Kagaho asks Alone to pull up his right sleeve, as Kagaho wanted to confirm something. Alone pull his right sleeve up at Kagaho's request, thus revealing the small scratch caused by Libra Dohko's Rozan Hyakuryū Ha on Alone's arm for Kagaho to see. The sight of Alone's wound fueled Kagaho's extreme wrathful behavior on Libra Gold Saint for what he done to his master.

Alone was drawing in his room, and Pandora comes in to deliver reports. Alone wondered what news it is, and Pandora revealed that the one who has tied with Alone, Pegasus Tenma, has been caught. Alone was surprised and just smiled, and Alone took care of Pegasus personally so it must be a mistake. Alone and Pandora looked up into the ceiling, and the Pegasus is nowhere to be seen. Alone asked if there are Specters heading for the Sanctuary, and Pandora tells Alone that he does not need to worry, and that Sanctuary is Minos's playground. Alone and Pandora notice something strange in the ceiling, and Alone guesses something had begun.
Alone revived even more Specters
Pandora later comes in to Alone's room, and Pandora gives Alone a report. Pandora tells Alone that Pisces had vanished from the ceiling, which means one of the Gold Saints, Pisces Albafica had perished. Replied to Pandora's statement, Alone notices Minos and his subordinates vanished from the ceiling, leaving a wondering thought if this is a serious blow to Alone's side. Alone will ask the Specters to feel the pain of the call of life, although Alone never liked it. Alone thinks that it only brings the Specters more suffering, but nevertheless uses his powers to resurrect the fallen Specters to prepare for the battle. The Specters obey Alone's command without second thought, and Alone claimed that the Sanctuary had no chance of winning from the start.
Alone is mention again by Tenma as his friend who become Hades's host, and that he is the one who killed Tenma but the Pegasus Saint managed to hold on with life Tenma lamented that fate is so cruel, and putting a kind soul like Alone end up become Hades's host and stuck in such dark place once he and his allies defeat the obstacles . As Tenma remembers Alone's kindness and how fate change all that, Alone suddenly appears and meet with Tenma's soul and his allies in the Underworld, at the swarm of suffers which probably is in the Seventh Prison .

As it's a rare occasion to see the King of Underworld this close to them, one of Tenma's allies, Crane Yuzuriha attempts to attack Alone, but failed, as Alone easily repels Yuzuriha's attack with his palm. Alone warned that no one should get between Alone and Pegasus's reunion with such nonsense, to a still struggling Yuzuriha's futile effort. Alone knocking Yuzuriha away, which resulting in Yuzuriha slammed right into Tenma's fellow Saint, Yato, who was rushing to catch her. Alone tells that he came because of Tenma, and Alone claims that Tenma is his favorite. Alone attempted to recruits Tenma into joining his army, but Tenma refuses. As a last farewell, Alone tells Tenma that he has not forgotten about the promise, and Alone stating that they would meet again in Athena's Sanctuary. Tenma attempts to calls Alone back, but Alone had already went far away

Alone suddenly appears at the Sanctuary
After what has been said by Alone becomes reality, Alone invaded the Sanctuary, and teleports himself to the statue of Athena ready to kill Sasha. Sasha recongizes that presences as her older brother and friend, Alone, and collapsed to her knees and called out "brother", but Alone replied that he wasn't a normal boy anymore, instead he is the host of Hades, the King of the Underworld. Libra Dokho, Aries Shion, Sagittarius Sisyphus, and Taurus Rasgado gather to defend Athena after sensing a powerful cosmos appear by Sanctuary's clock tower, in proximity of the Athena Parthenos statue.
Alone confronts Sasha after paralyze Gold Saints
Alone immediately paralyzed all four Gold Saints with his cosmos, disabling them. With the Gold Saints rendered unable to move, Alone moves in to approaches Sasha , and comments it's been 200 years since the previous Holy War. Seeing the receptacle of Hades this close to Athena, the Gold Saint wished they could moves, but found they can't due to Hades's overwhelming power. Now both reunited as Hades's host and Athena's incarnation, Sasha can't believe the receptacle of Hades is her friend Alone, only for Alone to replied he is now Hades's host and the old days is gone, and that Sasha forget that as the incarnation of Athena she always at war with Hades and his host, who happen to Alone. Alone further comments that she should get rid of those human emotions because it's a waste of time to have to carried all those weights and sadness.
Alone wasn't appreciated the fact that Sagittarius Sisyphus attempts to raises his weapon against him
In the middle of the confrontation, one of the Gold Saints, Sagittarius Sisyphus, surprisingly have enough willpower to resist the paralyzing technique, shocking Alone and the other Gold Saints in the process. Alone responses to Sispyphus's attempt by warning him to that raise his weapon against Alone the receptacle of Hades's soul wasn't a good idea, and decided to applied more off his overwhelming power on Sisyphus, cracking the ground in the process. As Sisyphus struggles with Hades' power, the one thing Sisyphus claims that he regrets is taking Sasha from Alone and the orphanage, believing that event was the main reason Alone let Hades possess him. In return for Sisyphus' confession on the thing he regrets, Alone did indeed hate Sisyphus for what he had done to Sasha, to the point that the god Hades who inhabit Alone's body is able to senses his host seemingly emitted negative emotions all aiming the blames toward Sisyphus.
The conversation between Alone and Sisyphus ended with the Gold Saint firing the Arrow of Sagittarius at Alone in an attempt to defend Athena. Alone responded by calling Sisyphus a nuisance, and effortlessly absorbs the arrow with the palm of his hand and redirects the arrow back at Sisyphus, resulting in Sisyphus getting badly injured in the process.
Alone, the receptacle of Hades's soul, getting restrained by Pope Sage
Sasha angered by Sisphyus's death and decided to get serious, and Alone summon Hades's sword and prepares to battle. It wouldn't be long before the the backups arrived and assist Sasha in battling Alone; one of them, Tenma, who makes his appearance after the sacrifice of Virgo Asmita, and also by Pope Sage, who is a survivor from the previous Holy War. Alone then summoned Cerberus and attempt to attacked both Tenma and Sasha, and Tenma quickly managed protected Sasha from Cerberus. The Pope later uses his Talisman Cage, he managed to secure Alone, the receptacle of Hades's soul, within their grasp. The Pope further explains Hades's real body is hiden deep inside Elysion, while Hades's soul entered the human world by possessing a human host and taken over its . And that if the Pope and Athena managed to expel Hades from Alone's body, then the Holy War would end. Alone turning his back around leaving Pandora and Sasha behind
After Pandora appeared, Alone gets upset and reproaches her for not letting him act alone, to which after a brief discussion they both leave, but not before creating the "Lost Canvas", a painting that goes through the sky, which, when it is finished it will be the end of the world. Tenma, the Gold Saints, and Sasha were all shocked to discover that Hades' plan was to use Alone to paint the "Lost Canvas", that giant painting screen indeed to submerge the whole Earth in darkness once Alone completes it.
Alone confronted with Tenma who didn't want him to leave
After explains to the Saints his grand plan, Alone went back to his horses-carriage along with Pandora, preparing to leave only to find Tenma attempting to prevent Alone from departing, leading Pandora to command the only female-Specter Behemoth Violate, who is present gushing out from Alone's shadow, to block Tenma from messing with Alone leaving. Taurus Rasgado rushed in and hold Violate back from stopping Tenma, and granted Tenma the chance to chase after Alone. Tenma, upon arriving to the horse carriage, attempts to gets to Alone, buts Pandora slammed her spear in the opening of the carriage's door and electrocutes Tenma with forces that enough to send Tenma flying to down straight to the Sanctuary and Talisman Cage
Alone change subjects by demands to know why Pandora sent Behemoth Violate to be his shadow without his consent
As the horse-carriage travels back to Hades's Castle, Pandora inquires to know the reason why Alone the receptacle of Hades's soul decides to goes to Athena's Sanctuary, and Alone responses to Pandora's statement by admitting he defeat one of the Gold Saint, Sisyphus because of grudge; for taking Sasha away from the orphanage, so much that the god Hades who take over Alone's body is able to feel Alone's vendetta against Sisyphus for bring Sasha to Sanctuary and left Alone sadness by her departure. After a moments of silence, Alone change subjects by demands to know why Pandora sent Behemoth Violate to be his shadow without his consent. Pandora replies by stating that she believes Alone would be protected if Violate entered his shadow just in case something happen. Alone choose to remain silent after Pandora's reasoning, and they continue their trip to the Castle in little to no words

Alone gets send by Pandora to a secure place in the depths of the Kingdom of Dreams
Days later, Pandora's suspicions come true, Alone's soul is excelling more than Hades's will, so she sends out Specters to assassinate Tenma, the cause of all this. However, the troops failed to kill Tenma, and Alone is incredibly angered at Pandora for giving orders to the Specters without his authorization. Meanwhile, Pandora, following the orders of Hypnos and Thanatos and using the divine power that these gods granted her, sends Alone to a secure prison in the depths of the Kingdom of Dreams.

From inside the secured prison, Alone continues with the Lost Canvas, where Alone even able to intervene in the dream of Tenma and encourages him to remains steadfast and keep fighting. During the fight against Morpheus, Alone is shown assisting Tenma in defeat Morpheus from inside.
Intense battle in Hades's Castle[]
Hypnos reproaches Alone
The sleep god Hypnos goes to see Alone and reproaches him for posing as Hades when really he was still himself and has been using all those significant powers that Hades has granted him to perform his "sacred work" of killing people by providing them with salvation, in addition to manipulating the army of Specters. Alone then tells Hypnos that he is a human with great evil, and Hypnos admitted he never see any human with more malice as Alone.
Alone's body gets taken over by Hades much to Hypnos's delight
Hypnos uses his godly cosmos power to overwhelms and rendered the last part of Alone's human soul in a state of eternal drowsiness and incapacitation, and thus allows Hades to gain full control over Alone. Hypnos bows down infront of Hades, who is now fully awaken and completely taken over Alone's body, and comments that he been waiting for his Lord for so long and welcome him to lead the armies. Hades greets Hypnos with a smile on his face, and then the King of the Underworld says that death is a condemnation and not a salvation and prepares to use Alone's drawing skills to cover the earth with the darkness of the night.
Alone kills Hakurei
Then Altair Hakurei invades the Castle of Hades to break the barrier of the Specters, which let the Saints use only ten percent of their power. Then Hakurei defeats all the Specters who fought against him then Hypnos doesn't let him place Athena's Sword to break the barrier. Later, Hakurei defeats and seals away Hypnos in Pandora's box.
Alone appears next to Crane Yuzuriha and quickly immobilize and paralyze her
When Hakurei was about to break the barrier, Alone arrives and slashes Hakurei with his sword, killing the old man. Then, Alone is attacked by Shion's Stardust Revolution but Alone gets rid of the attack, and easily attacks Shion with meteorites, but Shion rises and tries to attack it with Athena's Sword, and Alone breaks the sword and attacks Shion. Alone appears next to Crane Yuzuriha and quickly paralyze her, planning to attack her but Shion stays in front of the attack to takes the blow, but suddenly the back-up trio Libra Dohko, Unicorn Yato, and Pegasus Tenma appears to fight against Alone
Tenma asks why Alone did all that he has done, and he replies that he is not Alone, but Hades
Tenma asks why Alone did all that he has done, and he replies that he is not Alone, but Hades. Soon Tenma becomes so indignant that he attacked Alone, but Alone quickly defends himself by absorbs Tenma's attack and reflects it back to the Pegasus Saint only with the dark color in the same way he did earlier with Shion, that knocks Tenma back several distances and injured him. After attacking Tenma, Alone brings his sword to him to destroy Pegasus's life.
Dohko appears and shields Tenma from Alone's attack, but consequently his shield breaks
When he is about to kill the Pegasus, Dohko appears and stops Alone's attack using his shield, thus defending the life of his pupil, but consequently his shield breaks. Dohko and Tenma unite to attack Alone with all their force. They use the Hundred Dragon's Force and Pegasus Meteor Fist, but the attack is easily annihilated by Hades' sword. Hades' sword was so powerful that it was able to still the attacks the Saints who were behind Dohko.
Alone using Hades's Surplice
Soon Athena appears next to Tenma. Alone attacks and infuriating Tenma to the point of turning his cloth into that of the level that rivaled Hades's divine cloth but still does not go so far as to defeat Alone and is defeated again. Alone's overwhelming power as the host of Hades banished Athena away outside the Castle and back to Sanctuary, with Tenma tried to hold her hands but failed. Dohko stays behind and distracts Alone long enough to ensure his comrades escape, seemingly sacrificing himself in the process.
Alone went to his new castle
The plan worked after all; the Saints were waiting for that brief moment to be able to escape with teleportation. The Saints have teleported outside the Castle leaving only Dohko. Hades's Castle has begun to be destroyed, Alone has dissolved the barrier and removed his cosmos from the place. Inside, in the living room, lie the dead bodies of Dohko and Hakurei, as the casualties in the battle against Alone the receptacle of Hades's soul . Alone went to the new castle made by Pandora and his armies in the sky, from where he established his new abilities and finish his painting, the Lost Canvas, thus making Tenma vow that he will still train even more in order to save Alone from Hades' grasp.

Alone manipulate Behemoth Violate's dead body
After the defeat of Garuda Aiacos, Alone descends to earth to punish the Garuda Judge for his defeat, manipulating the dead body of Behemoth Violate. However, the action is interrupted by Violate, who managed to stop mid-blow and began crying. Surprised and frustrated all at the same time, Alone comments that he thought Violate is a brute without brains, but now she proves otherwise. So Alone decided to bury both Aiacos and Violate together, only to be stop by Pegasus Tenma .
Pandora comes to assist an injured Alone
Tenma, after ordering Aiacos to bring Violate away, shows him his new determination, and counteracting Alone's power and exploding it along with his cosmos. But all that power barely hurts Alone. Alone is willing to kill him when Athena appears and joins the battle. Thus begins the battle between the three, Alone, Tenma and Sasha, as friends turn enemies. But Sasha, as the incarnation of Athena, uses her own blood combined with Tenma's Pegasus Cosmo, resulting in Alone getting affected by the divine properties of it. The divine properties of Sasha's blood unwittingly hurting Alone the receptacle of Hades's soul as Tenma watch and assists Sasha, it seemed that the soul of Hades was going to be expelled from Alone's body, when Pandora comes to assist him.
Pandora embraces Alone's injured body and refused to let anyone touch him. Once she get Alone stabilized, Pandora begins to unleashes a barrage of attacks with her Saints, stunning Tenma and Sasha, and threatening to harm them for touching Alone. But Pandora was interrupt by Alone, who after recovering completely, abruptly reacts and stood up, and orders Pandora to stop and instead play harp for him, to which she silently obey. Alone introduces to Sasha and the Saints to his fortress, while inviting Athena's armies to begin their invasion plan in Hades's new castle. After the introductions, Alone stepped into the castle and continue with his drawing, leaving Tenma and the Saints behind. Tenma attempts to chase after Alone, but the Castle's main gate quickly close as the King of the Underworld enters, and prevent Tenma from going further and separate the two friends.

Alone tells Pandora how he made deals with Gemini Aspros
At some point, Alone's presence is requested by the former Gold Saint Gemini Aspros in Hell, and the sovereign receives the message somewhere in Giudecca. Aspros asked Alone boldly of ways to make him live, which Alone agrees to Aspros' market, but it does not come without a cost. In exchange, Aspros proposed to Alone in exchange for telling him the secret of the blood and Athena's Cloth with the promise of becoming the Patriarch and thus govern the earth. Alone appoints Aspros as one of the guardians of the nine Temples of the Lost Canvas. After all, Alone knows Aspros's ambition is entirely directed towards revenge and instead of the Pope. Sometimes later, Pandora approaching Alone, demands to know how Alone was able to acquires as much information about the Athena's Cloth and its secret, in which Alone explains to Pandora the existence of Gemini Aspros, a traitor in the army of Athena, and how he deals with him.

Much to Pharaoh's shocked, Rhadamanthys tolds Pharaoh to move out of the way and insisted that he needs to place his heart on the balance scale as his way of apologize to Alone. While waiting for the result, Alone orders Pharaoh to stops as that is enough and acknowledged it's rare to see a man like Rhadamanthys rip his heart out to prove his loyalty, and seems to pleased to see how loyal Rhadamanthys is. Alone choosing to heal Rhadamanthys' wounds with a little of his blood making Rhadamanthys a divine being. Now that the judge is fully healed, Alone makes Rhadamanthys as Saturn's Temple guardian, and comments that against a man like the Wyvern Judge, the Saints will find themselves faced with an impenetrable wall. Rhadamanthys complied to Alone without hesitation, before leaving to fulfills his duties
After Rhadamanthys leaves, Pharaoh bows before Alone and presents his plan of carrying out orders and bring back a pile of Saints hearts. Interested in that idea, Alone comments he is looking forward to seeing a bunch of Saints heart with a smile on his face.

Mephistopheles Yoma dramatically interrupt the battle between Alone and Gemini Aspros

Alone stated Athena's army will get annihilated soon, and demands to knows whenever his armies are ready to give him their full support, to which the Specters all chorused "Yes" and demonstrates their unwavering support to their King of the Underworld. And Alone comments with a smile on his face that he has a very devoted army here with him.
Pandora comments that Alone should disappear and let Hades take over his body
However, right after Alone comments how loyal the armies is, the Specters began dying and coughing up blood infront of Pandora's eyes, to which a horrified Pandora tolds her lord, Alone that the Specters is dying only to find out Alone had draws a painting of the Specters hidden away from plain sight and purposefully destroys its with his blood-soak paintbrush. Alone, with his back turn away from Pandora, comments that how sad to see him killing his own people using his own hand. A terrified Pandora demands to know what on the world Alone is talking about, and why he want to kill the Specters, and whenever this is some kind of divine punishment. Alone replies that this was the ultimate salvation, and that killing both the Specters and the Saints are perfect peace, in which he couldn't brought all of the salvation as Hades. Pandora, horrified that Alone, the host of Hades, would go this far as killing the Specters, outright called him the bastard and comments that Alone should disappear and let the Underworld God, Hades take over, and that she hasn't seen anyone despicable like Alone. Alone replied Pandora by stating that he know he is an evil human who refusing to disappear and let the god Hades inside him out completely, but he sees salvation infront of him. Alone believes that his salvation, which involved killing both Saints and Specters, are taking these deaths on himself to bring salvation, so that they don't feel pain that way anymore, and to do this, Alone need the powers of the god Hades who inhabit him.

Once Alone finishing about his definition of salvation and the killing of the Specters and Saints, Alone began to turn his back on Pandora and walks back to his altair to finish painting, but not before comments that if Pandora doesn't forgive him she is welcome to challenges him, and he will accepts the challenge. Alone claims that the Evil Temple's Guardians are fighting for this world's salvation and then proceed to move back to his chamber, leaving Pandora behind. Pandora realized what happened; and how Alone's soul is excelling more than Hades's will, which result in Pandora vowing to defeat Alone so Hades can be awakened

Alone asks Kagaho what does he think about the true color he have seen in his painting
After the meeting with Specters and Kagaho's confront with Pandora, Kagaho enters the altair where Alone is working on his Lost Canvas painting. Kagaho silently mulled over the fact that this place was filled with peace and unapparelled, with the people in Alone's painting have already received their salvation, all thanks to the love and dedication of Alone the receptacle of Hades's soul. Alone acknowledges Kagaho's presence as the Bennu Specters approaches him and shorten the distance between both of them, to which Kagaho quickly got down and bowed to Alone, then looked up at the receptacle of Hades's soul to shown respect to his superior and looked at the painting . Alone asks Kagaho what does he think about the true color in Alone's painting, and comments on how he the receptacle of Hades's soul have seen true color in most if not all painting, and that he had no need to see it himself as the world will come to an end. Alone continue his statement by stating to Kagaho that once the stellar clock's needle finish a full turn, the Lost Canvas would be finish and all of the world's sadness will vanish.
As he explains his plan to Kagaho, Alone briefly paused and asks Kagaho if he mistaken, to which the Bennu Specter didn't replied, which give Alone the cue to continue on his explanation about how Pandora is fighting passionately for Hades and then there're the situation involved his friend Tenma and his sister Sasha, and wondered if the future can be changed and if the Saints will come and arrest him. Kagaho demonstrated his unwavering loyalty to Alone by assuring that the host of Hades won't have to be worried about that, and that Alone should keep painting the Lost Canvas with total conviction and dedication. The Bennu Specter stated that he and the others agree with Alone's salvation method he proposes, and that Kagaho will not let anyone interrupt Alone from doing so

After Bennu Kagaho's death, Alone is seen grieving for Kagaho's death and thanks the Bennu Specter for everything before returning to his "true color".

Alone remains unaffected by Pandora's attack without looking at her and instead looked at the painting and comments its pity that Pandora wasn't able to see the true meaning Alone's painting and backhandly reminds Pandora of his grand plan of using the paintings to Pandora. Alone openly claims that Hades wasn't capable of ultimate salvation which caused Pandora to attempts to destroy Alone but stop mid-blow after seeing Alone's limpid eyes. Pandora was affected by Alone's limpid eyes, and wondered why does Alone by the receptacle of Hades's soul had such sorrow in his eyes and whenever it because he suffering deep inside or perhaps . Pandora is sucked in deeper, she sees Alone's heart filled with sorrow and sadness to a daily basis and wondered if he bears this much sadness all in his body, and that Alone's heart was broken to pieces.
Alone decides to kill Pandora by bouncing her off the stairs
After seeing sadness in Alone's heart, Pandora collapsed, unable to endure Alone's sadness further. Alone used to lifts Pandora's face so she looked into his eyes, and asked if his sadness was too much for Pandora, and all of the grieves dazed Pandora enough from answering Alone's question. Alone stated that prepare for many options such as personally letting Pandora sees what inside his mind or perhaps she could use her power to read his mind , but he wasn't expected her to see all those sorrow inside his heart and endured all that. To which Pandora replied with a soft "Yes" and she is close to tears from seeing the sadness inside Alone's heart. As a result of this, Alone comments it's a shame because Pandora doesn't have what it take to stop him, and decides to kill Pandora by bouncing her off the stairs. Much to the Alone's surprise, Rhadamanthys come to rescue Pandora, who decides to go face Alone on his own, since he realized that Alone has taken control over Hades.
Alone versus Rhadamanthys
Alone, upon witnessing Rhadamanthys saved Pandora, smirked and comments that Rhadamanthys is incredibly tenacious, even after being wounded in the fight with the Leo Saint, Regulus, the Wyvern Judge still managed to remains steadfast and saved Pandora. Rhadamanthys claims that the reason he come here was to get rid of Alone, so that Hades can take over, as Pandora watch things unfold. Alone replies by stating Rhadamanthys's tenacity is on par with his sadness, and the Judge had enough willpower to confronts him. As Rhadamanthys approaches Alone and closes the distance between the two, Alone comments that this is the end and decides to destroy Pandora and Rhadamanthys' souls forever so he launches a devastating attack, but Rhadamanthys pushes Pandora out of the way and takes the full charge of Alone's attack and was fatally wounded, but not before launching the attack Maximum Punishment against Alone's murals; freeing Athena and the other Saints converted into stone of their curse, before finally succumbed to the wounds he received from Alone.
Alone acknowledged Rhadamanthys's boldness in facing him the receptacle of Hades's soul
Moments later, Pandora holds the inert body of Rhadamanthys as Alone watch from the sideline , honoring Rhadamanthys's loyalty to Hades who inhabit Alone's body, revealing that it was Rhadamanthys who gave Pandora enough courage to lead the Underworld army . Even Alone himself acknowledges Rhadamanthys's boldness in facing him the receptacle of Hades's soul and that the Wyvern Judge's true color is really vivid, as he watch Pandora craddles Rhadamanthys's body. However, at the same time, Alone does not appreciated the fact that Rhadamanthys and Pandora turn against him the receptacle of Hades's soul and the punishment for such crime is extreme severe and most likely be execution
The Final Battle[]
Alone encounters Tenma face to face
As the Holy War neared its climax, Alone encountered Tenma face to face shortly after the defeat of Yōma, the incarnation of Kairos a superior god of time, commenting that he really hate Yōma, but just let believe that one thing which was about the images of Yōma's dream which Alone found unbelievable . Alone expresses disbelief over the images of Yōma's dream that he the receptacle of Hades's soul is seeing within the bead is so childish, and judging from Alone's expression he clearly did not understand the true meaning of Yōma's dream and think it's a childplay , which angered Tenma because even though Yōma is a Specter he still the Pegasus Saint's father . And that with all the obstacles gone, Alone comments that there're three of them, Alone, Tenma and Sasha here for the final battle. To which Tenma replied by chides Alone for being awfully hasty, and that he thought Alone was supposed to be stationed deep within his stellar palace . Tenma asks why did Alone come here, to which Alone stated that he come here to complete everything in order, and in order for this to happen, Tenma's death is necessary. Alone explains to Tenma that his hands turn to the color black with the truth of thousands, millions, and billions people he killed, and with these hands Tenma will be killed in order to complete the salvation of this world. As if on the cue, Tenma notice something wrong with the deceased, to which Alone stated the dead are spread out here are the symbol of his deep sorrow. And that Alone is pleased to see that both himself and Tenma see the same view, that Tenma embraces great death and sorrow and come here to this place where he confronts Alone. Tenma angrily retorts by stating he is not embracing sorrow and that everyone who isn't here lived their lives to their limits, and that what encourages Tenma to stands.
Sasha, with Athena's armor, block Alone's attack
Alone decided to get serious, and comments that Tenma does not possesses enough sorrow. Alone decides to unleashes his deadly overwhelming powers to attempts to erase the lives of Shion and Dohko, whose are both knocked out, but Sasha, with Athena's armor, arrives just in time and manages to nullified Alone's attack, thus saving Tenma's life. Sasha tells Alone that people makes connection from the death, the living must live on and protect and support one another, and Tenma states that if Alone forget about this then he won't be able to save the world. Tenma and Sasha attempts to attacks Alone, but Alone comments that they are foolish and absorbs Tenma and Sasha's attacks and redirects its back to straight to them, causing Tenma and Sasha to crashes down to the ground
Alone wearing Hades's Surplice
After several failed attacks, the souls of the dead are stacked to reveal the Hades' Surplice with which Alone decides to use to comfort Tenma and Sasha. And now with the Hades's Surplice, Alone will uses Tenma and Sasha's lives to complete his method of salvation. Alone uses the power of Hades's sword, and with a single slash, Alone brought forth this much force to causing Tenma and Sasha pain and brought them to the ground. But despite the injuries, Tenma tells Sasha that he will keep going, and that he know if he didn't express this then the battle won't begin like Alone had intended to be. Alone replied by claims that the battle had started already and that there're nothing to hear from Tenma. Tenma figures Alone's aloof replied was his way to forcefully end the discussion from his side, while Alone claims that it's all more useless at this point and there're nothing Tenma can actually do. Alone took it literally by warning Tenma neither your voice or fist reach him with a warning slash from Hades's sword, causing Tenma staggered backward in pain and that he already expect this from a God's Cloth. But Tenma still standing and claims that Alone hadn't severed the connection yet, and that there is a voice calling him and he pretty sure that Alone. To which Alone replied by straight up stabbing Tenma with his sword, but Tenma just look at Alone and comments he hadn't changed and that Tenma voice is reaching him. And that it's gonna Tenma who punched Alone, and Alone and Tenma starts trading blows
Alone, with Hades's Surplice, clashes techniques with Tenma
Sasha watch the battle between Alone and Tenma, comments that a mutual killing is about happen yet the Cosmos feels calm and that she had dream where Hades swallow the world whole, but a lone Pegasus Saint boy managed to defeat him and that boy looks like Tenma. Tenma, meanwhile, refused to leave Alone the receptacle of Hades's soul alone and attempts to use several methods to reach for him, however failed miserably. After a conversation that ends with both Alone and Tenma commence their battles, Alone charges towards Tenma at god-speed, and began clashing techniques with the Pegasus Saint and even starting to beat him down multiple times. Tenma tried to uses his Pegasus techniques, but was overwhelm by Alone's cosmos and abilities. With Tenma badly injured, Sasha tries to convince her brother, but at that moment the Saints arrive who had refused to obey the order to leave to assist Tenma and his goddess. Yato arrives with the surviving Saints trying to get Tenma to react, but are overwhelmed and defeats by Alone. The surviving Saints's ignited Cosmos reach Tenma, giving him the strength to remains steadfast and stood up. With the Flower Chain impregnated with Cosmos in his hands, Tenma advances towards Alone, after a strong clash of power, Tenma launches himself at Alone asking him to return to the time in which the three lived happily, Tenma's words make effect and the Lost Canvas begins to unravel, releasing the souls, however this unwittingly had negative effect on Alone's body, which left Alone weakened and drained.
Alone was left weakened and having to be carried by Tenma
Alone was left weakened and having to be carried by Tenma, quickly regained control over Hades, feeling excruciating pain due to Hades several almost-winning attempts to take over. Alone begged Tenma to destroy his body as quickly as possible to prevent Hades resurrects while the opportunity was fresh. Unfortunately, Tenma hesitated and was unable to oblige at the very last minute, leaving Alone once more at the mercy of Hades himself. Alone undoubtedly was able to sense Hades was attempting to gain control again and pleads to Tenma and made efforts to alerts Tenma and the Saints to run away from him, resulting in the Saints starting to prepare when they heard Alone's words.
Hades completely taken over Alone's body
When Tenma hesitated to run from not wanting to leave Alone behind, Hades managed to overwhelms an already weakened Alone and completely taken over his host's body, rendered the young man in eternal-succumb-failure state. A violent wave of darkness blitzes the Saints and injured them, including Tenma, in the vicinity marking the point where Hades regained the upper hand over Alone's body and reclaims it.
Alone's features and hair drastically transformed to match those of Hades's true body, which had rested in Elysium since the ages of myth, and the power of the god of the Underworld finally revealed itself in all its splendor, much to the Saints's horror. Hades, now completely taken over Alone's body, unleashes his overwhelming powers on the rest of Saints whose managed to withstand his previous assaults, and effortlessly overwhelms and defeats several Saints despite they survived his previous assault, include some Gold Saints. However, with the efforts of the Saints, Hades was forced to retreat and abandoned Alone's body, and flees, later encountering Alone, Tenma and Sasha, who manage to banish him from the Earth with a combined effort, at the cost of their absence. Alone, as a normal human, was transported back to Earth along with his friend, Tenma, who presumably abandoned the Pegasus Cloth, therefore, living a normal life and died of unknown causes.
Pegasus Tenma: Prior to becoming the host of Hades, Alone had a close relationship with Tenma. He knew the Pegasus saint well and tried to keep him out of trouble and fights when he could that were mainly caused by his kind nature. After becoming Hades's host, Alone sought to end Tenma's life as he believed it was salvation. He sought to release Tenma from suffering that life caused, but he couldn't deny that his heart always longed for him, revealing he ought to have killed him for his strong feelings towards Pegasus. He says that he had always been attracted to Tenma, mainly due the bright colors his eyes showed in their current era and in his flashbacks of previous Holy Wars. It is implied Alone always called for him, no matter the form he took. Tenma is able to save Alone from the route he took as the host of Hades, to which Alone congratulates him with a kind smile. Tenma cries silently at achieving the promise he made all those years ago before Alone begs him to destroy his soul and body, as Hades was reacting within him. After the Gold Saints expelled Hades from Alone's body, Alone shows extreme remorse for his "salvation", to which he begs Tenma and Sasha to take him with them. Tenma wonders what everyone would think, but is overjoyed at being close with Alone again, for he takes his hand and accepts. He is alongside Alone in the end, looking at him as they defeated Hades for the era.
Sasha: Alone's younger sister. The two were shown to be very close and Alone showed sadness when Sagittarius Sisyphus took Sasha away. Sasha admires Alone's good will and kind heart, describing his color as the purest white. She is alongside Alone in the end, eyes closed and overjoyed to be with her elder brother and Tenma again.
Kagaho: One of the celestial specters introduced in The Lost Canvas and Alone's closest ally/comrade. He sworn loyalty to Alone rather than to Hades, acting in a protective and loyal manner toward him. He becomes incredibly angered at any threat Alone receives, immediately takes actions. Kagaho would never allow anyone to cause the smallest bit of damage, as shown when Alone shown the small scratch caused by Libra Dohko's Rozan Hyakuryū Ha which fueled Kagaho's extreme wrathful behavior on Libra Gold Saint for what he done to his master. Alone revealed his plan of salvation to Kagaho and once asked him if he was committing a sin, to which Kagaho replied with a confident no, and even if it he was, he'd follow him everywhere. Alone serves as a surrogate of his younger brother Sui, bearing a deep resemblance to him. He accepts the fact he is still human by the help of Alone, whom he thinks has abandoned the most out of everyone for his salvation. He swears that if Alone isn't saved, he'd reincarnate to fulfill said purpose. After Bennu Kagaho's death, Alone express genuine sadness over Kagaho's demise, and thanks the Bennu Specter for everything he done before returning to his "true color".
Sagittarius Sisyphus: One of the Gold Saints introduced in The Lost Canvas and Alone's arch-enemy. Alone harbors hatred and grudge against the Gold Saint for taking Sasha away from the orphanage, to the point that the god Hades who take over Alone's body was able to senses his host having a large amount of negative emotions against Sisyphus. The hatred Alone had for Sisyphus extend to the point that he outright calling Sisyphus a nuisance, and uses the god Hades's power to redirect the Gold Saint's arrow back to its owner and severely injured him in the process.

"Alone" is an English word meaning "alone" or "solitary". This refers to the burden he wants to carry himself of achieving salvation for the entire world through death with his Lost Canvas and the powers obtained as the host of Hades, King of the Underworld.
In Lost Canvas, there is a visual reference to distinguish Alone's soul from the god Hades who inhabit his body as Alone uses the sword in his right hand, but when he is fully possessed by Hades, he uses his left hand to hold the sword.
As noted by Libra Dohko, Alone bore a striking resemblance to Sui, Bennu Kagaho's younger brother. Alone has a similar hair color and dresses in similar clothes as Host of Hades (XVI Century), hinting the two hosts are relative.
Alone who is the host of Hades in the 18th century at times has similar attitudes to Andromeda Shun who is the host of Hades in the 20th century.
Alone was the first person to resist Hades' possession to some extent, with Andromeda Shun being the second one to achieve the feat in the future.
Alone is the only person who had to go through great stress to accept his destiny as Hades' host.
Alone is implied to love and care for his friend, Pegasus Tenma more than anyone else.
