Betrayal[]
After a hostile takeover of the Palestra and Sanctuary, Ichi submitted to the will of Mars through Caelum Michelangelo. In addition to his allegiance, Ichi requested a Silver Cloth, something he had coveted for years. With a smile, Michelangelo promises to intercede on his behalf with Sonia, Commander of the Silver Saints and daughter of Mars.
Earth Ruins[]

Ichi, posing for a friend.
The two Silver Saints then conspire to set a trap for Kōga and friends. Ichi, who still enjoys the aura of sympathy that was his at Palestra, pretends to be a friend on the run, having escaped the troops in Mars after the fall of the Palestra. Leading the Bronze Saints to Earth Ruins, it pushes them into the arms of the creations of Michelangelo, before revealing his new status and Silver Cloth .Ichi uses his claws and poison to weaken Soma and Yuna, then lets them fight the golems of Caelum Michelangelo to focus on Kōga.
On three occasions, the Silver Saint uses feints to fool Kōga he has weaknesses, but each time uses the opportunity to poison him a little more. He even manages to stop the Pegasus Senko Ken, totally blocking the fist of Saint Pegasus before he reaches it, piercing his armor to poison directly.
Confident in his abilities, Ichi was amazed that Kōga can still move after all of attacks. Under pressure, he eventually confides to his former comrades that it is frustration, developed over years in the shadow of Seiya and his companions, that caused him to defect to Mars, desperate for recognition for his actions.

Ichi facing the compassion of his victim.
Enraged by Ichi's betrayal and pettyness, Koga burns his cosmo and ultimately manates to defeat Ichi, destroying his Hydrus cloth and leaving the traitor for dead. After the departure of the Bronze Saints, Nguyen , the boy who lead the group towards the ruins of the Earth finds Ichi sobbing in the middle of the forest. The disgraced Saint, lamenting his regrets and failures, is surprised that the boy does not take revenge for the evil he has committed, but offers water to save his life. Ichi then told him grumbling that he should not be so trusting, before whispering "thank you" as he returns to crying.
After Mars' defeat and Athena's return, Ichi is seemingly forgiven and allowed to return as his previous role as the Hydra Bronze Saint.
Cloth[]
The Silver Hydrus cloth allows Ichi to spawn poisonous claws on any part of his body, while his former Cloth of Hydra was limited to hands and knees. In fact, the claws can even scratch the under-suit worn under a cloth. Moreover, the claws that Clostone are much larger than those of its former Cloth. Being struck by one of these claws is not sufficient to cause death, but causes painful paralysis, whereas the Hydra Cloth's claws were capable of delivering fatal blows. Several attacks are necessary for the Hydrus cloth to have the same fatal effect. Similar to the Hydra cloth, the Hydrus claws can regrow at will if broken.
Techniques[]
- Paralyze Baiser : is a technique Ichi uses by extending his right hand and focusing his Cosmo into it. Being struck by this attack is capable of causing paralysis in anybody hit by it, even a Bronze Saint
- Hydrus Gorgeous Kick : Ichi rockets towards his opponent, extending his right leg as if he's going to kick. At the last second, he instead extends a poisonous claw from his toe, striking his enemy with it and infecting them with a debilitating poison.
- Hydrus Thousand Paralyze : Hydrus Ichi's most powerful attack, he concentrates all of his Cosmo and manifests the constellation of Hydrus behind him, which rotats its heads and extends towards his opponent. The full nature of this attack has never been seen, as it was interrupted by Pegasus Koga's Ryuseiken.
Constellation[]
Hydrus (haɪdrəs/) is a small constellation in the southern sky, created in the sixteenth century. Its name means "male water snake", and it should not be confused with Hydra, a much larger constellation which represents a female water snake. Hydrus was one of twelve constellations created by Petrus Plancius from the observations of Pieter Dirkszoon Keyser and Frederick de Houtman and it first appeared on a 35-cm diameter celestial globe published in 1597 (or 1598) in Amsterdam by Plancius with Jodocus Hondius. The first depiction of this constellation in a celestial atlas was in Johann Bayer's Uranometria of 1603. The companion to Hydra, the female water snake, he is forced to journey through Eridanus, Orion, and the Milky Way to visit his lover.
Notes[]
- Ichi is the first Hydrus Saint seen in the franchise.
- In the Pallas arc of Saint Seiya Omega, Ichi is sometimes mistakenly depicted wearing the Hydrus cloth again, despite having returned to wearing the Hydra cloth.
