The Lepus Cloth is one of the Silver Cloths.
Constellation and Mythology[]
The Lepus Cloth is based on the Lepus constellation, its name coming from the Latin word for a hare or rabbit. The Hare is shown in the sky as being chased by Orion's hunting dog, the constellation Canis Major.
The rabbit is known in many world cultures. One famous depiction is the Asian-Mesoamerican myth of "The Moon Rabbit", in which a compassionate rabbit sacrifices itself for one of the gods, or a Buddhist deity, and is brought to the moon and given immortality as a reward for its good nature.
