Alfried (アルフリード, Arufurīdo) is a character from the manga spin-off "Saint Seiya: Meiō Iden - Dark Wing". He is the Aquarius Gold Saint and is part of the twelve Gold Saints, the elite warriors within the army of the goddess Athena. He guards the Pisces Temple in the Sanctuary of Athena.
When Cattleya Mikagami is presented as the reincarnation of Athena to the Gold Saints, Alfried points out that the young woman is really interesting. During Cattleya’s stay in the Sanctuary, she has become her personal steward and chef of the goddess.
Appearance[]
He is a fairly handsome young adult, with a face of fine and delicate features, who wears a long black hair and lacy, combed in such a way that leaves his forehead uncovered with a fringed hairdo to the right side, while leaving a large tuft of hair hanging in front on the same side.
During the meeting of the Gold Saints we could see that he carries the Pisces Cloth and holds a rose in his hand. But outside of combat or the Saints' affairs, he wears an elegant black tuxedo, which gives him a look similar to that presented by many butlers in various works of fiction. Regardless of the situation you are in, always wear a round retro style glasses.
Personality[]
Alfried seems to be a serious person with great manners, to the point that Cattleya herself describes him as a gentleman, and also says that the treatment he receives from him makes her feel like a princess.
History[]
The awakening of the goddess[]
When Cattleya first meets with the Gold Saints and the Pope at the Sanctuary. Alfried is lined up alongside the other Gold Saints in the Pope’s chamber. Seeing the young woman’s behavior, they begin to give their opinion about Athena. Alfried points out that, as I hear from Theseus, he is a really interesting person. Like him, most of the Gold Saints seem to have a favourable opinion of the young woman. After this, the Pope continues with the presentation and most of the Gold Saints are limited to observe what happens without intervening [1].
It’s been a year since Cattleya arrived at the Sanctuary, during which time Alfried has served as the goddess' steward and chef. Cattleya herself points out that she is a gentleman and the way she treats her makes her feel like a princess [2].
Abilities[]
- As a Saint he can control the energy known as cosmos.
- The Saints have the power to tear the sky with their fists and break the earth with their kicks.
- Like Gold Saint, he can travel and fight at the speed of light (300,000 kilometers per second) and, thanks to the Gold Cloth he wears, he can withstand the cold down to -273.15°C, that is, absolute zero.
