Resurrection! Loki, the Evil God of Asgard (Fukkatsu! Asugarudo no Jashin Roki, 復活!アスガルドの邪神ロキ) is the eleventh episode of the Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold series. It was released on August 29, 2015.
Summary[]
Aioria tries to stop Loki from creating the weapon said to bring ultimate doom. As he fights, he gains help from a very surprising ally.
Plot[]
In the chaos following the Athena Exclamation, Aioria finds himself captured by Yggdrasil's roots. As he falls under the surface, he is awakened by a light and sees Lyfia's spirit before him. Taking her hand, Aioria is sent back above ground but is missing his cloth. Seeing the platform before him, he sees that it now holds all twelve Gold Cloths that have been drained of their power and the Yggdrasil fruit is now in the form of a large flower bud about to bloom.
Forcing himself onto his feet, Aioria is determined to stop the flower from opening at any cost until a voice states it will not be possible. He is then startled to see a dark cloth before him that tells him the fruit has absorbed all of the energy of the twelve cloths and from the land of Asgard and is now ripe.
The voice confirms he is the deity Loki and that he plans to rule Asgard in place of Odin. Aioria questions how he survived the Athena Exclamation and Loki answers that Andreas did perish in the blast, but Loki himself survived thanks to preparing a second host in the form of his cloth should Andreas not make it. Using the roots and Andreas' image, Loki now fully appears before Aioria.
Hearing the false god waiting for the flower to bloom to get the treasure inside, Aioria declares that he will not allow this to happen. Burning his cosmo, Aioria tries to attack but quickly finds himself overpowered. As Aioria is without his cloth, Loki unleashes more brutal attacks on the Leo saint and mocks how his life was meddled with.
As he lies on the ground, Aioria hears the twelve cloths sobbing for him. Touched by the cloths, Aioria rises to his feet. Loki ridicules Aioria for thinking he still has hope to cling onto and is about to attack when a golden arrow strikes the roots and spares Aioria. Loki is not pleased to see who saved Aioria while the Leo is momentarily stunned when he realizes it is Aiolos next to him. Aiolos admires how grown Aioria is now and how determined he was to fight despite being alone.
Loki questions how Aiolos survived their fight. The Sagittarius explains that he had been separated from his cloth but had been found and rescued by palace maids. Upon learning who he was, Aiolos had been taken to Queen Hilda who shared with him the dire situation Asgard is facing and what it could mean for the world.
Loki voices amusement at hearing how Hilda saw through him when a voice suddenly speaks to them. Through her cosmo, Hilda reveals that she knew what Loki was up to from the start and how he had possessed Andreas as soon as the evil spirit broke free from his containment. While waiting in the doctor's body for the perfect moment to put his plan into action, Loki used the current war between Athena and Hades to his advantage. With Odin posing a problem for Loki in trying to rule Asgard, the trickster decided to use the power of the twelve Gold Cloths to bring forth the fruit that is foretold would bring nothing but doom, the Spear of Gungnir.
As the flower begins to open, Loki admits Hilda is right and that obtaining the spear will provide him with enough power to not be concerned about Odin being in the way of his desire to conquer Asgard and the world.
Aioria is ready to charge forward but Aiolos warns him not to be drawn in by Loki's mocking as he determines they just need to defeat Loki before the spear appears. Loki welcomes them to try to beat him as he believes them to be of no threat without their cloths. Aiolos states that saints are not powerless without their cloths and burns his cosmo so brightly that Aioria's cosmo reacts to it. As Aioria sees the image of Aiolos' God Cloth, his brother requests his power to help stop the false deity.
In the palace, Asgard soldiers are doing everything they can to keep Hilda safe from dozens of revived dead warriors. Just as the Einherjar force their way into the room Hilda is in, Sigmund suddenly appears with Freya and takes charge in protecting the women.
Back out in the field, Aioria and Aiolos unleash their strongest attacks. Though they defeat the Einherjar, Loki is unscathed. With time running out until the flower fully blooms, Loki unleashes an attack. Aiolos has Aioria stay back while he lets fly an arrow. Unfortunately, Loki manages to repel the attack with his own. Although Aioria tries to protect his brother, Aiolos instead shields Aioria from the worst of the attack.
Before the statue of Odin, Frodi approaches and places the jewel of the Odin Robe before the statue and asks the Norse ruler to hear the voices of the Asgardian's. The jewel begins to glow and, in a flash of light, Lyfia is revived. Although surprised to see his friend alive, Frodi quickly overcomes his surprise and kneels before her.
On one of the barren branches of Yggdrasil, Aioria awakens and spots Aiolos nearby. Hurrying to his brother, Aioria hears Aiolos give him words of encouragement about not letting labels define his actions; using his own example of being labeled a traitor be cleared when he had been revealed to have saved Athena when she was an infant. Knowing the five Bronze Saints are fighting in the Underworld, Aiolos states that they cannot let Loki win. This allows Aioria to figure out what they were meant to do with their new chances at life, to bequeath life to the next generation.
A sudden glow from Aiolos' hand gets their attention. The archer reveals the Draupnir, the only tool capable of containing Loki. Having been given the Draupnir by Hilda, the Asgardian queen explained how it has the power to confine Loki but can only do so when it achieves its full power with its chosen wielder. For this occasion, it has chosen Aioria.
Loki watches as the flower begins to open more and his excitement to have the spear grows until Aioria gets his attention. Aioria does not hesitate to attack and manages to dodge Loki's oncoming attack. While a punch is blocked, Aioria does manage to hit Loki with the Draupnir. Loki is knocked back but shows no sign of weakening. Seeing the tool Aioria struck him with, Loki becomes enraged.
The two begin exchanging attacks while just managing to dodge the other's attacks. Although Aiolos tries to warn him, Aioria is struck from behind and Loki feels he has won. His certainty is quickly broken when Aioria is discovered to not only be alive but was saved by the Odin Robe that appeared before him.
To his surprise, Lyfia speaks to him and Aiolos for their great effort. As an immense cosmo is felt, Hilda voices how the great Norse God Odin has awakened in Lyfia, his new representative. Frodi explains how Utgardar had known from the start that Loki had possessed Andreas and knew it would take time for Odin to awaken through his new representative which is why he had hidden the Odin Robe where Loki would not find it. Having taken his own life before the saints arrived, Utgardar was revived as an Einherjar and had hidden the robe inside himself until it was safe enough to be used.
Frodi next claims that it is by Odin's will that Aioria was chosen to wear the Odin Robe, making him a true warrior worthy of protecting the people of Asgard. Through Lyfia, Odin pleads for Aioria to wear the cloth and not allow the Spear of Gungnir to come into the world. Grasping the sword and turning the cloth gold, Aioria dons the Odin Robe and vows to Odin that he will defeat Loki.
