Showdown! Aiolia VS Andreas (Kessen! Aioria tai Andoreasu, 決戦!アイオリアVSアンドレアス) is the tenth episode of the Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold series. It was released on August 15, 2015.
Summary[]
As Frodi fights Utgardar and discovers his true intentions, Aioria locates Andreas and the real figure wanting to control Asgard and the World is revealed.
Plot[]
The fight between Frodi and Utgardar continues with Utgardar seeming to have the upper hand as he easily dodges Frodi's attacks and uses his own powers in ways Frodi was unaware of. Frodi isn't entirely surprised at this considering Utgardar is virtually unknown to any of them but comments of the two of them are similar warriors protecting Asgard from the light and shadows.
Using his Hallucination Loup. Utgardar summons wolves made of moon light to attack Frodi. With the numerous wolves surrounding Frodi, Utgardar feels certain that the young warrior will fall, and his legacy will only be known for his vanity and stubbornness. Frodi quickly pushes the wolves away, determined to find out from Andreas directly of what is going on in Asgard.
Utgardar attacks and kicks Frodi hard enough to knock him out of the building. As he falls, Frodi hears the voice of Asgard that Lyfia spoke of. Summoning his own power, Frodi gets himself back to the chamber. He realizes that Lyfia had been truthful the entire time she had spoken of wanting to protect Asgard. The two clash swords once more but Utgardar once more gets the better of Frodi when he knocks his sword away and damages his cloth. Wanting to protect Asgard and make up for failing Lyfia, Frodi delivers a powerful punch onto Utgardar, leaving his chest hollow and destroying Valhalla's statue.
Dying on his feet, Utgardar's mask falls off to reveal the mark of the dead but Frodi notices something hiding within his chest cavity. Upon seeing what the item is, Frodi figures out what Utgardar was really up to and compliments the now deceased man for his efforts.
In another area, Aioria has crashed through a wall and finds himself before Andreas. Sensing the Statue of the Brave has been broken, Aioria believes the Fruit of Evil will stop growing but is shocked to see it is still growing. Andreas reveals the platform holding the Gold Cloths of the fallen Gold Saints. Andreas admits that the fruit normally grows from the energy of the seven statues, but this process would take too long to complete. This leads Aioria to realize that Andreas is planning to use the cosmos from the Gold Cloths to hasten the fruits growth. Andreas confirms this as the Gold Cloths are said to have the power to match the sun. Hearing this makes Aioria realize this was the reason he and the other Gold Saints were revived. Andreas further confesses that Lyfia was a mere puppet in his plans and even used her to take the blame for the taboo of reviving the dead.
Aioria becomes enraged at hearing the confession but is unable to hold back Andreas' power. Andreas tries to get the Leo saint to surrender his cloth but the Leo refuses. When hearing the saint mention his older brother's name, Andreas reveals he already has the Sagittarius cloth in his possession. He admits that Aiolos was the very first of the Gold Saints to have been revived and the first one to face Andreas. Although he believes Aiolos died during their fight, the only thing they found from him was his cloth.
Aioria is in such disbelief at hearing what happened to his brother that he does not bother to defend himself against an oncoming attack. He is saved when Mu arrives and uses his Crystal Wall to stop the attack. The shield nearly shatters when Dohko appears and attacks. With Andreas momentarily halted, Dohko and Mu charge forward; Dohko feeling like he has returned to the Holy War with Shion at his side.
The two saints attack but Andreas feels they will not do much until Saga arrives and join in. Unfortunately, the three are not able to do any damage. Saga advices Aioria to stay behind. Aioria tries to retaliate but Dohko gets him to agree when he points out how Aioria is still full of rage to act properly. When Mu confirms that the fruit of Yggdrasil should cease if Andreas is defeated, the three saints become determined to stop him.
Attacking once more, the saints manage to do some damage, but Andreas still refuses to be beaten by them. He nearly attacks, but a pain from his left eye stops him. Realizing the damage to his eye is preventing him from using his full power, Dohko urges the younger saints to attack. Although they land more attacks, Andreas still refuses to accept defeat, but his eye is proving more troublesome. Blaming Aiolos for his deception, Andreas and the saints watch as Andreas' left arm is enveloped in a dark light, and he pulls a gold arrow from his eye.
With the arrow removed and destroyed, Andreas is surrounded in by a dark cosmo and becomes fully possessed by the false deity of Asgard, Loki. The three saints attempt to stop him, but Loki easily defeats Dohko, Mu, and Saga and nearly claims Dohko's life and cloth until the Libra is saved by Shaka. After freeing Dohko, Shaka raises his cosmo and summons his God Cloth. Although Shaka manages to steal all five of Loki's senses, the deity quickly regains his senses to Shaka's surprise.
Loki uses large roots to catch Shaka and mocks him for thinking a single saint could beat him so easily. Shaka instead points out how Loki is the one easily fooled as Shaka had been a distraction to allow Saga, Dohko, and Mu to prepare to unleash the Athena Exclamation. With Shaka's life being claimed, Dohko, Mu, and Saga refuse to allow his sacrifice to go to waste. Even knowing the attack they are about to unleash will take their lives, the trio voice their trust in Aioria to handle things.
With the three saints now wearing their God Cloths, they unleash the forbidden technique with all their might onto Loki and Yggdrasil.
