Tanngrisnir Heracles (タングリスニルのヘラクルス Tangurisuniru no Herakuresu) is a God Warrior in Soul of Gold.

Appearance[]

Heracles is a tall man with a muscular build. His hair color is brown and reaches down to his shoulders. His God Cloth is mainly green in color with yellow accents and fur in place of the armored skirt.

Personality[]

Heracles is a confident warrior that bases himself on his brute strength and physical power that is the greatest within the new God Warriors. However, this confidence of his proves to be a great disadvantage, since he is easily overwhelmed in situations he could find other ways to get out of.

During his final fight with Aldebaran, Heracles revealed that he forgot how it felt to care for and protect others as he became convinced the raw strength was the best type of power there is.

Battles[]

He first debuted in episode 2 when he challenged Libra Dōko to a fight in the Asgardian colosseum but Dohko volunteered Aldebaran to fight him instead. However, Heracles saw this as a better challenge since he saw this as an opportunity to test who was stronger. Unfortunately, when Aldebaran proved to be winning in the match, Heracles decided to use underhanded methods to try to best the saint and purposely directed an attack at the crowd. Aldebaran was able to save the innocent people watching and this caused the Taurus saint to partially awaken his God cloth.

He then reappears in episode 4 when Andreas gathered the God Warriors. He appears once again in episode 6 where he faces Aldebaran once more at Jotunheim, the chamber he protects at Yggdrasill, after getting an Odin Sapphire that amplified his power. Since he abandoned his weapon, Mjollnir, the battle was even harder for him and he was easily defeated by Aldebaran. He once more tricked the Gold Saint by using his caring nature against him which put Aldebaran in a position to be caught by Yggdrasil's roots. Feeling they both were at their end, Heracles watched as Aldebaran used the last bit of strength he had to destroy the chambers statue instead of saving himself, something that Heracles admits he found very admirable.

Trivia[]

  • Ironically, while he shares his name with the famous Greek hero, Heracles resembles the classical version of Thor.
  • In the post-credit scenes of the final episode, a man fitting Heracles physic is seen in the training area with Frodi and Sigmund, but it is unclear if he had survived the fight against Aldebaran as the face of the man in this scene is not shown.
