The Passionate Sibling Bond of Saga (Saga! Atsuki Kyōdai no Kizuna, サガ!熱き兄弟の絆) is the ninth episode of the Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold series. It was released on August 1, 2015.
Summary[]
Saga becomes the target of the grieving older brother Sigmund for the loss of his younger brother Seigfried.
Utgardar begins showing strange signs in the fight against Dohko and the secret of who revived the Gold Saints is revealed.
Plot[]
Sigmund is pleased to see Saga enter Niflheim. He right away attacks, but Saga dodges every attack. Getting slightly frustrated by Saga dodging, Sigmund claims that each attack from his sword fuels the spite of his younger brother Dubhe Alpha Siegfried. The mention of a brother catches Saga's attention, and he hears Sigmund describe Seigfried as having talent unparalleled amongst the God Warriors. Sigmund was incredibly proud of his brother, but the last battle against Athena and the saints claimed Siegfried's life and caused Sigmund to become hateful of the saints and all Olympian deities.
In Helheim, Dohko continues to battle Utgardar. The Libra saint manages to knock Utgardar into the crystal of the Helheim statue but is shocked when the God Warrior's helmet falls off and he sees the marking of the Einherjar on him although it is slightly different than those of the Gold Saints. When Utgardar lands on the stairs, Dohko is surprised to see the crystal break. Knowing the force of his attack wasn't strong enough to break it, Dohko wonders if Utgardar wanted him to break it all along.
Elsewhere, Lyfia is walking down a pathway when she suddenly snaps out of her trance. Confused as to what she was doing, a memory comes back to her of a slightly earlier time where she sees herself casting a spell and is the one revealed to have revived the twelve Gold Saints. Lyfia is utterly stunned at the thought of being the one who revived Athena's saints when the voice of Andreas speaks to her about indeed being the one who revived the saints. Not believing Andreas, Lyfia quickly hurries off to find Aioria.
In Vanaheim, Aioria and Frodi continue to put their best effort in the fight. Frodi does notice how Aioria has adapted to the power of his sword. Aioria credits this to the trait of a move by an enemy not working a second time on a saint. At this, Frodi proves he is using another version of his attack and managed to push Aioria back. Frodi continues to boast of his bloodline being proud protectors of Asgard and Odin. He attempts to use hand to hand combat but finds Aioria able to withstand his attack thanks to the Gold Saints being able to match the speed of light. As they continue to counter each other's fists, Frodi sees why Lyfia has such faith in the Leo saint.
Hearing Lyfia's name causes Aioria to momentary cease. Frodi questions if the saint is that concerned about Lyfia and in return is asked if he is concerned about her even though she is bravely trying to save Asgard. Frodi becomes insulted at Aioria's speculations and reveals that he and Lyfia have known each other since childhood despite different upbringings. This only makes Aioria question why Frodi refuses to listen to Lyfia's concerns. Frodi answers that he believes Lyfia is mistaken in thinking things are wrong in Asgard. He reaffirms his duty to protect Asgard with his very being and that this includes Lyfia.
In Niflheim, Saga continues to dodge Sigmund's attacks. After dodging Sigmund's latest attack, Saga confesses he knows how Sigmund feels and that he too had a younger brother who died recently. Although he understands how Sigmund feels in wanting revenge, Saga destroys part of the right side of Sigmund cloth. Saga's power is so great that Andreas' cheek gets cut and makes him realize the true strength of the Gemini's power.
Although having suffered a close-range attack from Saga, Sigmund refuses to let him destroy the Statue of Mist. Saga sees that Sigmund is driven by revenge but Sigmund states there is another reason he has a score to settle against Saga. Sigmund explains that before the battle against Athena's saints, he had been the first to reach Queen Hilda and notice the change in her but had been imprisoned before he could do anything to help. During the time he was locked away, then court doctor Andreas noticed how his strength was deteriorating due to not eating. Andreas informed Sigmund of the fight between God Warriors and Saints and that Seigfried had become a God Warrior in place of Sigmund but perished in the fight.
While he does hold himself responsible to some degree as he felt he was not strong enough to notice Hilda's change sooner, Sigmund mainly blames the saints. He tries to attack Saga, but the Gemini saint counters with his Galaxian Explosion. Before the attack can do serious damage, the two warriors are shocked to see Seigfried's God Cloth come to Sigmund and merge with his cloth.
Thinking his brother would lend his power to Sigmund for a final attack, Sigmund prepares his sword but halts when Saga points out that he is wrong in his assumption. The Dubhe Alpha Robe then separates from Sigmund and Saga points out how Seigfried's tears are emitting from the cloth from knowing what his brother is doing and not wanting him to fight like this. Sigmund realizes his brother is forgiving him when Andreas suddenly uses his power to overwhelm him and force him into the state of no emotion or fear of death, Berserk.
Newly enraged and empowered, Sigmund rushes forward and begins to overwhelm Saga. During the fight, Saga senses Sigmund's spirit call for the Gemini saint to kill him as he cannot stand anymore humiliation as a warrior. With the spirit of Kanon encouraging him, Saga burns his cosmos and brings forth this God Cloth. Saga unleashes the Galaxian Explosion and destroys the Odin Sapphire, the Grani God Robe, and the Statue of Mist. With the statue destroyed, Saga leaves the ruined chamber before Sigmund awakens and realizes Saga managed to spare him and sees his brother's spirit once more.
Continuing their fight, Frodi and Aioria refuse to yield when Frodi feels that the Statue of the Brave is the last one standing. Frodi begins showing signs that Andreas is trying to take control of him like he had with Sigmund, but the young warrior refuses to lose control until he defeats Aioria. The Leo Saint continues trying to snap Frodi out of his trust in Andreas and is about to attack when Lyfia arrives and calls for them to stop.
Although difficult to admit, Lyfia confesses she was the one who revived the Gold Saints. Aioria and Frodi are both shocked by her admission. Frodi tries to claim that Lyfia doesn't know how to do such a thing, but the voice of Andreas claims she is telling the truth, and that the revival of the saints is part of her plan to rule Asgard and the world.
Andreas tells Frodi he knows what he must do since he knows the ancient law of Asgard in that those who commit the taboo of reviving the dead must pay with their life. While retrieving his sword, Frodi recalls when Lyfia first told him how she would be serving Hilda and when they both promised to do their best in their respective paths.
Frodi sends the blade of his sword toward Lyfia but pulls back at the last moment. Seeing that Frodi will not attack Lyfia, the young woman pleads for Frodi to carry out the punishment since she acknowledges what she did was one of the greatest sins. She is about to carry out the punishment herself when Aioria stops her. While Aioria sees the punishment is not needed, Lyfia tries to get him to understand how she wants to keep Asgard safe even at the cost of her own life.
Hearing this, Frodi retrieves his sword. When Andreas questions if he is planning to betray Asgard, Frodi answers that he isn't as he now accepts Lyfia is being truthful in her claims. He then demands Andreas tells the truth of what is really going on only for Andreas to force Frodi into Berserk mode. Before Frodi can do anything, he manages to use his sword to break the Odin Sapphire and free himself from the Berserk mindset.
Frodi is about to callout Andreas when Utgardar appears and strikes Lyfia to the horror of Frodi and Aioria. Aioria pleads for Lyfia to stay strong, but Lyfia knows she does not have much strength left. Knowing her time is short, Lyfia tries to tell Aioria something important but vanishes before she can. Her death greatly upsets Aioria, is felt by Dohko and Mu, and seems to please Andreas.
In the post-credit scene, Andreas leaves Utgardar to handle the enraged Aioria but Frodi intervenes by telling Aioria to find Andreas while he takes care of the man he cannot forgive for taking Lyfia's life. With Frodi confused about a path to take, Aioria recites Lyfia's words of following their heart to find their path. Frodi accept this and Aioria leaves to find Andreas.

Errors[]
- A possible error is shown in Sigmund's flashback with Andreas. Andreas is shown to have his hair styled in its current manner after his encounter with Aiolos. However, at the time of the flashback he would have had his hair away from his eyes as the Gold Saints were not yet revived and he had not yet received the damage from Aiolos.
